Trainee Train Driver: Stage 3 - final interview with Train Driver ManagerThis is the last stage of the process bar the medical. If you have made it this far you have done very well indeed. You will now get to meet with two Train Driver Managers, at least one from the depot you applied for. This interview usually takes place a couple of weeks after the assessment centre, but can take longer. What's involved? I found this interview a lot friendlier and more laid back. Although don't let your guard down. It seemed to be more of a chance for the managers to size you up, and get a feel for whether or not they would want to have you on their team. Prior to the interview, you may be asked to write a mini report on your journey to work. What they are looking for is clarity, brevity, and attention to important details such as times, any delays and what modes of transport you used. As a Train Driver you will be completing paper forms regularly, so the ability to put your thoughts down on paper is needed. The interview itself will be mainly focused around you - what you did previously, why you have applied for the job, and what your expectations are of being a driver. Are you prepared for shift work? working alone? are you aware of challenges train drivers face on a daily basis? You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions you would liked answered. If you have made it through the assessment centre, then this should not prove too challenging. Just relax and focus, and present yourself well to the managers and you should be fine. Mine lasted for about 45 minutes, although most of that was made up of introductions, and giving more information about my past. There were very few specific interview type questions. Remember, be presentable (wear a suit) come across well, and do your research on the job role, and you should be fine. Go to next page: Stage 4: Medical>>>>>
